Michael Watson hoping to inspire

Sunday, August 30, 2009

Former Commonwealth Champion Michael Watson MBE, who suffered life threatening injuries in 1991 which ended his boxing career, is still intent on putting something back into soiceity despite his physical problems.

Watson was injured during his WBO Super Middleweight title fight with Chris Eubank at White Hart Lane and was in a coma for 40 days and underwent numerous operations to remove clots from his brain. Since then he has learned how to talk and walk again and even completed the London Marathon  in 2003 to raise funds for the Brain and Spine Foundation.

Hatton TV caught up with Michael just before he was due to meet another former boxing great who is also suffering from physical disabilities -  Muhammad Ali - a man who Watson says inspired him to fight against his own problems.  This is an interview with a remarkable man.
