Danny Green wins by first round KO

Fans in Perth let loose a chorus of boos as defending champion Danny Green knocked out challenger Paul Briggs within a few seconds of round one.

Briggs had caused controversy by weighing in 7 pounds over the agreed limit for the fight which had been switched from Sydney because of objections by the New South Wales authorities.

The fight started and finished as Green threw a jab which hardly appeared to make contact but Brigss sunk to his knees and was counted out.

Green, who was also the promoter, said that Briggs "isn't getting paid a cent"
